AMERICA, YOUR LAST MEMORY IN A TERRORIST COUNTRY, 2011.

"Patrick's multimedia work addresses how art can function as an extension or management of sight, detailing the relationship between the image and the voyeur, particularly in reference to online media. Working in a variety of media, Patrick dissects and examines the identity of sight and the growing need for visual custody in a digital age plagued by the overabundance of lurid and dubious images. His work investigates the Internet as a potentially dark and meditative subjective state - a place of entrancement but also of voyeuristic anonymity. Much of this multimedia series references and appropriates online content surrounding the recent events of Jared Lee Loughner's attempted assassination of Arizona Representative Gabrielle Giffords. In doing so, the works re-contextualize the heavily publicized event into a new and personally realized narrative hovering in an eerie hypnagoic state between illusion and reality."
